The meaning of Thuli

Thuli, meaning ‘drop’ in Tamil, symbolizes our belief in the power of small acts to create vast ripples of change. A vibrant celebration of craftsmanship and heritage, Thuli bridges timeless Indian artisanship with contemporary fashion.

Our collection offers not only wearable art but a testament to the skill of hand block printing and weaving techniques from Kutch and Bengal. Each piece is crafted to tell a story of sustainability, culture, and design innovation.

The hands behind the cloth

Every Thuli garment is brought to life by skilled artisans in Kutch and Bengal, who have honed their craft over generations. Using techniques passed down through the ages — hand block printing, and the intricate weaving of Jamdani and Khadi — each fabric becomes a canvas of cultural expression.

By choosing Thuli, you aren’t just wearing a garment. You’re helping keep a heritage craft alive, and supporting the livelihoods of the people who practise it.

Certified B Corporation

A Certified B Corporation

In May 2026, Thuli became a Certified B Corporation. B Lab assesses a company’s entire operation — how it treats workers, suppliers, the community, and the environment — and certification means meeting a verified standard rather than simply declaring one.

Our overall B Impact Score is 101.1. A score of 80 qualifies for certification; the median business assessed scores 50.9.

For us it was a way to have someone outside the business check our work. The figures published across this site come from that same reporting.
