How to wash, dry and keep your handmade pieces, by craft.
Every Thuli piece is made by hand: handwoven, hand block printed or hand embroidered. A little care keeps the cloth and the colour as they were made. Find your piece below. The product page names the craft, so you can always check there.
Handwoven
Jamdani
Handwoven cotton with motifs woven into the cloth on the loom.
- Cold hand wash separately and do not soak
- Dry clean if needed
- Air dry in shade
- Do not tumble dry
- Do not use fabric softeners, bleach or starch
Hand-spun and handwoven
Khadi cotton
Hand-spun yarn, handwoven into a soft, light cotton. It grows softer with every wash.

Hand block printed, natural dyes
Ajrakh & naturally dyed pieces
Ajrakh is hand block printed using natural vegetable and mineral dyes, with indigo as the main dye. Some of our indigo pieces are naturally dyed too.
- Cold hand wash separately and do not soak
- Dry clean if needed
- Air dry in shade
- Do not tumble dry
- Do not use fabric softeners, bleach or starch
About natural dyes: because these pieces are hand block printed with natural dyes, there may be slight irregularities in colour and print.
Merino and wool
Sweaters & vests
Our knits, including the Mariosa and Hershe sweaters and the Delilah vest.
- Dry clean or gentle hand wash only
- Air dry in shade
- Do not tumble dry
- Do not use fabric softeners, bleach or starch
Hand block printed
Bags & pouches
Duffles, pouches, toiletry bags and laptop cases.
- Gentle hand wash
- If machine washing, use the delicate cycle at 30°C
- Do not tumble dry
- Air dry in shade
A note on handmade
Small shifts in colour or a slightly uneven print are marks of the hand, not flaws. Colours on screen may also look a little different from the piece itself, because of screen settings and the lighting we use for photography.
