Code of Ethics

At Thuli, we believe fashion should do more than look beautiful — it should do good. Our collections are inspired by heritage craftsmanship and brought to life through sustainable practices that honor both people and the planet. This Code of Ethics reflects our commitment to responsible business, transparent sourcing, and meaningful partnerships with the artisans and communities we work with.

01

Our purpose

This Code outlines the principles that guide how we operate — from how we design and source, to how we treat people and care for the environment. It serves as a compass for ethical decision-making across our business.

02

Who it applies to

This Code applies to everyone at Thuli, including our team, leadership, and all collaborators. We also expect our suppliers, makers, and partners to uphold these same values and work with integrity.

03

Our core values

Integrity & transparency

We are honest about our process, from pricing to sourcing. We believe in clear, open communication and we stand by our word.

Respect for people

We prioritize human rights, fair wages, and dignified working conditions. We collaborate with artisans and small-scale producers who share our commitment to equity and respect.

Environmental responsibility

We take sustainability seriously. From low-impact materials to mindful production volumes, we aim to reduce waste and protect the planet.

04

Legal & ethical compliance

Thuli operates in full compliance with all relevant laws — local and international — including those related to labor, environment, and trade. We hold ourselves and our partners to these standards.

05

Ethical sourcing

We work directly with artisan groups and textile communities, ensuring our sourcing supports local economies, respects cultural traditions, and meets our standards for safety, fair pay, and environmental care.

In 2024, 63.6% of our COGS suppliers were women-led or from underrepresented communities, and we paid our artisans a 24.3% premium above the local living wage. Our full methodology and figures are published on our impact report.

06

Fair labor standards

We ensure that:

  • Work is done voluntarily
  • Workplaces are clean and safe
  • No child labor is involved
  • All workers are paid a living wage
  • Working hours are within legal limits
  • Discrimination of any kind is not tolerated
07

No tolerance for corruption

Thuli strictly prohibits any form of bribery, fraud, or unethical financial behavior. All business decisions are made fairly, and we maintain honest and transparent records of our operations.

08

Privacy & data protection

We protect the privacy of our customers, partners, and employees. Personal information is handled securely and only used for necessary business purposes in line with data protection laws. See our privacy policy for details.

09

Speaking up & accountability

If you believe something isn’t right, we encourage you to speak up. Thuli is committed to handling concerns confidentially and ensuring there is no retaliation for raising issues in good faith. We take all reports seriously and act to resolve them.

10

Committed to growth

Ethics isn’t a checkbox — it’s a journey. We regularly review and improve our practices through internal audits, supplier evaluations, and ongoing training. We stay informed on global standards so we can evolve responsibly.

At Thuli, doing good is woven into everything we do — from how our pieces are made to how our team operates. This Code of Ethics is a living document that reflects our values and guides our work to create fashion that uplifts, respects, and sustains.
